Gamay- or Gamay Noir - is best known as the grape used in Beaujolas, a lighter -bodied red that is a more serious wine than Rose, but without the nervy magic that is Pinot Noir. Gamay has lovely cherry and strawberry flavours, it's good with a wide variety of food and you can drink it chilled, which is great with our hot climate.
